Tehran F-4 Incident
CREDIBLE WITNESS ENCOUNTER
Imperial Iranian Air Force F-4 Phantoms twice lost instrument and communications function while pursuing a UAP over Tehran in September 1976. A second object separated and approached one aircraft. The pilot's weapons panel failed before he could fire. A DIA report rated it a case of outstanding reporting value.
