Mountain Anomalies.

The Uinta Basin, Dulce, and the San Luis Valley — America's high-strangeness corridor.

← ALL ROUTES

The Rocky Mountain corridor from Utah into New Mexico and Colorado contains a concentration of UAP reports, cattle mutilations, and underground facility rumors that is unmatched anywhere in the US. This is not a beginner route — some roads are unpaved and elevations exceed 10,000 feet.

  1. 01
    NEXT STOP 7 H

Start in the Uinta Basin. Drive the perimeter, talk to locals in Vernal and Roosevelt. The volume of anomalous reports from this region — from people who have no interest in publicity — is the real data.

    OVERNIGHT Vernal, UT
  2. 02
    CURIOSITY

    Dulce, New Mexico

    NEXT STOP 4 H

Dulce is a small Jicarilla Apache Nation town that has been at the center of underground base rumors since the 1970s. Paul Bennewitz, Thomas Castello, and Phil Schneider each described a deep underground facility with non-human occupants. The evidence is thin. The location — between multiple USAF installations — is notable.

OVERNIGHT Dulce — limited options, best to camp
  3. 03
    SIGHTING

    San Luis Valley, Colorado

    NEXT STOP 6 H

The San Luis Valley has one of the highest concentrations of UAP reports per square mile in North America. The first cattle mutilation case officially investigated by law enforcement (Lady the horse, 1967, Alamosa County) occurred here. The Blanca Massif to the east is considered sacred by the Navajo and has a consistent history of orb and light sightings.

    OVERNIGHT Alamosa, CO

    LANDMARK

    Sedona, Arizona

End the loop in Sedona. After the high desert and mountain driving, the red rock canyon is a relief.

  • Dulce roads can be impassable after rain. Check conditions before departure.
  • San Luis Valley nights are cold even in summer — temperatures drop to near freezing at altitude.
  • Do not attempt the Dulce underground facility locations without proper preparation — some are at high elevation on unmaintained roads.
